Wrongful Death Claims for Pedestrian Fatalities
A Sacramento pedestrian fatality accident must be supported by evidence. In California, damage awards can be made when someone dies as a result of negligence or wrongdoing by someone else. If a driver negligently kills a pedestrian, they may be held liable for the loss of someone else’s loved one.
The Finding of Wrongful Death Evidence
When a pedestrian is killed in a traffic collision, a lawyer can investigate the case to determine whether the evidence supports a wrongful death claim. In addition to police reports, witness statements, videos of traffic surveillance, and photographs of the accident scene, your attorney will gather other documentation. A medical expert witness can also testify as to the cause of death and the negligence of the at-fault party.
The Process of Contacting a Lawyer Who Handles Wrongful Death Cases
It is important to contact a California wrongful death lawyer as soon as possible in order to make a successful claim. A lawyer can help you gather evidence and evaluate its strength to ensure all aspects of your case are considered. - The cost of funeral and burial services can be recovered.
- Wages, pensions, and insurance benefits can be recovered from the deceased until retirement age.
