Ford Recalled F-150 Trucks for Brake Fluid Leak
The Ford Motor Company has recently recalled nearly 300,000 F-150 pickup trucks equipped with the 3.5 liter EcoBoost engine for a brake fluid leak. Vehicles affected by the recall may leak brake fluid from the front-wheel circuit of the brake master cylinder into the brake booster. The driver may receive a red brake warning indicator, alert in the message center, or an audible chime in the instrument cluster. They may also experience a change in the feel of the brake pedal, including increased effort for braking. This will depend upon the amount of brake fluid lost. If there is a substantial loss of brake fluid, it may reduce brake function in the front wheels. In the rear wheel circuit, the full braking function will remain, according to a statement by Ford. Conversely, extended stopping distance from reduced brake function in the front wheels has the potential to increase the risk of a motor vehicle collision.
The Ford Motor Company is aware of seven allegations regarding low-impact or low-speed crashes resulting in two injuries related to this brake failure problem. A safety recall, Ford reference number 20S31, has been created so that the brake master cylinder will be replaced by dealers. Under safety recall 20S31, the brake booster will be replaced as well if it is leaking.
Which Fords Were Recalled for the Brake Fluid Leak Concern?

Product Liability Claims for Defective Vehicles
While there may be a wide array of issues that may make a vehicle defective, there are a few areas where a problem could have started. An experienced Sacramento personal injury lawyer will investigate the design and manufacturing process to determine whether the company has tested the car to ensure it meets federal safety regulations and will function as intended and not cause harm. If the car has a flaw in its design, it may malfunction while being driven or break down over time. Whether the vehicle was deemed faulty as a result of unsafe manufacturing or design, an injured individual may be able to seek compensation through a vehicle product liability claim filed against the automaker.
Auto Product Liability Cases Against Manufacturers
One of the challenges of bringing an auto products liability claim against an automaker is that you need substantial evidence to prove the case. To gather evidence, collect any financial or medical records that are related to the accident and preserve the vehicle in question until it has been inspected by an experienced injury attorney.
When seeking compensation from a vehicle manufacturer through a products liability claim, they may offer a low-ball personal injury settlement before your case is taken to court. You may feel like it is the best option you have to avoid going through court proceedings and stress. However, it may not take into full account what the accident has cost you and your family in terms of medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Under these circumstances, retaining an experienced personal injury lawyer in Sacramento could be your best option. An attorney who has the experience and resources needed to litigate your case can help recover the justice and compensation you need to get your life back on track after a defective vehicle accident.
