Four Hospitalized After Fresno County Car Accident

Four people were hospitalized after a car accident involving a building in a rural area of Fresno County on January 18, 2021. The incident occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. at Cornelia Avenue and Lincoln Avenue, just west of Easton.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a 45-year-old woman was driving a silver Mazda southbound on Cornelia Avenue, approaching a stop sign at the intersection. CHP traffic officials reported that the Mazda driver reportedly failed to stop at the stop sign, and the Mazda broadsided a gray Maserati traveling eastbound on Lincoln Avenue. The impact caused the Maserati to veer out of control and strike an abandoned building in the area.

The Mazda driver and three parties in the Maserati were transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment. Officials described their injuries as minor to moderate. Further details on the Fresno car accident were not immediately available as an investigation is ongoing.

What to Do After a Car Accident in Fresno County

Being involved in a motor vehicle collision can be challenging and confusing, especially your first one. Receiving medical treatment should be your priority. If you or someone else involved in the traffic collision suffered injuries, request an ambulance, and contact the CHP to the scene to take a traffic accident report. Also, try to take pictures of the accident scene, including damage to the vehicles involved, if you can. After your medical needs are addressed, contact an experienced Fresno personal injury lawyer. A lawyer can determine if you have a personal injury claim and advise you on the next steps you should take to ensure your best interests and legal rights are protected.

Should I Talk to the Insurance Adjuster After a Crash?

Dealing with insurance claims adjusters after a car accident is not easy. This is because it is the insurers’ goal, including your own, to settle personal injury claims for as little as possible or deny them altogether. If you have been involved in a crash and suffered serious injuries, as a result, do not discuss the specifics of your personal injury claim with the insurance adjuster. Any words you have said may be used against you later in your case.

The best chance of assuring a full and fair personal injury settlement is to retain a skilled Fresno car accident lawyer who has years of experience handling cases like yours and knows how to overcome the defense tactics insurance carriers use to downplay the value of claims. Our injury lawyers will handle all communications with the insurance company on your behalf, so none of your statements are taken out of context and used against you as a way of reducing the value of your personal injury claim.
