Four Injured After Head-On Collision in Antioch
The Antioch Police Department (Antioch PD) and the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (CCCFPD) responded to a head-on collision that left four people injured at Asilomar Drive and Deer Valley Road. The injury incident occurred on Monday, August 24, 2020, shortly after 11:30 p.m. and involved a sedan and a pickup truck. Officials said it took approximately an hour to cut the sedan and extricate the two people trapped inside the vehicle. Those two parties were listed in critical condition and were transported via air ambulance to John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek for treatment.
Meanwhile, the two occupants of the truck were able to exit the vehicle on their own and went to a nearby residence to contact an ambulance. The police arrived and took both of them into custody prior to transporting them to a local hospital. Additional information on the car accident has not yet been released by Antioch PD.
