Fun Community Events in Fairfield
The city of Fairfield is the second biggest community in Solano County and, as the county seat, serves as a central hub for many activities. As such, Fairfield is a lively city with a host of entertainment options for everybody. Some of the fun community events planned for the coming weeks in Fairfield are detailed below.
Restaurant Week and Taste of Downtown
Through the entire week of March 10 to March 17, 2018, the Fairfield Main Street Association will be hosting its Restaurant Week and Taste of Downtown Event. During the event, Restaurants of the Fairfield downtown area will come together to showcase their establishments with specialty items, entertainment including live musical performances, art installations, and beer and wine tastings that will take place throughout the week.
The week will include a special ticketed tasting event that brings together the cuisine of Downtown Fairfield. The event will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2018, and tickets are priced at $20 dollars per individual.
Get the Rush at Rush Ranch
Get the Rush! is a fun series of activities that the whole family can enjoy offered on the third Saturday of each month at Suisun’s Rush Ranch. Parking and admission to the event, as well as all included activities, are completely free.
Visitors are able to travel back in time to a period in the early history of the State of California by visiting a traditional-style blacksmith’s shop in full swing and are invited to try their hand at smithing their own iron nail or custom souvenir.
Parents and kids with a penchant for learning can attend Science Discovery labs that take place from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Those in want of some nature can walk through the Fairfield marshlands while docents teach about the wide variety of local wildlife. Other visitor activities depend on the weather and availability of volunteers but include rides in horse-drawn wagons as well as many other exciting opportunities.
Get the Rush! is sponsored by Access Adventure, Rush Ranch Educational Council, and volunteers from the Solano Land Trust.
