Chautauqua Playhouse
When in the Carmichael area make sure to stop by the Chautauqua Playhouse. Located in the La Sierra Community Center it hosts many events and performances such as dramas, musicals, and even comedy. You will want to take a moment to go down Fair Oaks Boulevard to make your way to the Jensen Botanical Gardens. This beautiful garden when in season has a variety of flowers and showcases flora such as dogwoods, azaleas, rhododendrons, and camellias.
American River
Spend your day out on the water by taking your boat out to any of the boat launches within the American River Parkway. This parkway runs 28 miles down along the American River in of course Sacramento County. If you love sailing you may also love another outdoor pastime which is biking. The American River Bike Trail is right there and offers so much fun for its bikers. There are many recreational multi-use facilities available for the bicycle commuters. There are several cycling trails so make sure to hit them all.
Ancil Hoffman Golf Course
This suburb of Sacramento offers a lot to its residents and visitors alike. The 320-acre golf course is a definite attraction to the area from golf lovers all over. Make sure to visit the Ancil Hoffman Golf Course at some point during your stay in Carmichael. This legendary course offers a challenging yet fair experience. The golf course is located near the Effie Yeaw Nature Center so before or after your day of golf stop in and check it out. It is located inside the Ancil Hoffman County Park. Take a guided nature walk where you will have the chance to see wild animals up close. There is a Discovery Shop located there as well where you can pick up souvenirs to show your friends and family when you get back home. Make sure to tour the replica Maidu Indian Summer Village while you are there.
Sonoma Valley Balloons
If you love highs and want to see the world, you will be thrilled to find out you can take a hot air balloon ride for a pretty good price. Sonoma Valley Balloons offers hot air balloon rides with a champagne toast. It is an exhilarating experience and if you are able to take a special someone with you it could be a very romantic time. The sights you will see while flying across the Sonoma Valley and Hidden Valley during the three to four-hour ride. You will cross over rivers, vineyards and see mountains in the distant. It is truly an experience that possibly nothing may ever out do.
Since we are talking about flying high in the sky you can also sign up to take a helicopter ride. The ride will last for 20 minutes and you will be able to tour the capital. This ride is a ride for two so make sure to bring that special someone with you. You also can sign up for flying instruction and learn how to fly a helicopter too.
