Head-On Collision Injures Two Near Merced County

What Happened?
A California Highway Patrol (CHP) received a call of a Chevrolet Impala traveling erratically along Highway 140 in the vicinity of Cunnigham Road at approximately 5:00 pm. The Chevrolet turned north onto Cunningham Road where it reportedly collided head-on with a Ford Fusion. The impact of the collision caused severe front-end damage to both vehicles involved.
Nature of Injuries
Paramedics were called to the scene for needed medical attention. Responding medical crews reported that both drivers suffered serious injuries in the car accident. They were both transported via air ambulance to hospitals in Modesto. Officials have not yet released an update on their conditions to the public.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The investigating agency usually takes a week or so to release a report of their findings.
