Head-On Crash Injures Ione Passenger
I’m Ed Smith, an Ione personal injury lawyer. A Modesto man and his passenger were traveling near downtown Sonora on the evening of Saturday, October 7, 2017. The two individuals were involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle. Unfortunately, both individuals suffered traumatic injuries resulting from the accident.
We wish for a swift and full recovery for the parties that suffered injuries in this tragic head-on accident.
What Happened?
A Modesto man was driving his Toyota along Highway 108 in the vicinity of Mono Way at approximately 7:20 pm. For unknown reasons, the Toyota veered into the opposing lane of travel and in the direct path of an oncoming 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver of the Jeep was unable to avoid the Toyota, resulting in a severe head-on collision.
Was Anybody Injured?
The driver and passenger of the Toyota, identified as 55-year-old Wesley Tresenriter from Modesto and 55-year-old Patricia Tresenriter from Ione, both suffered traumatic injuries. They were transported via ambulance to the Adventist Health and Doctors Medical Center for treatment. The motorist of the Jeep, identified as 32-year-old Steven Rapozo from Mountain Ranch, sustained injuries described as minor and declined medical treatment.
What Caused the Accident?
The cause of the accident has not yet been released due to a pending investigation. Traffic Collision Reports involving head-on collisions require thorough investigation. These reports may take one to two weeks from the date of the accident to be processed. It is important to note that not all reports are entirely accurate pertaining to fault. When a party has suffered traumatic or fatal injuries resulting from a car accident, it is vital to contact an experienced Ione personal injury lawyer. A seasoned attorney can conduct a solo investigation of the crash scene and study the sequence of events leading to the collision to properly determine liability.
Passenger Injury Claims after a Car Accident
If a car accident has caused significant injuries to a passenger, there may be compensation available for medical bills and losses. It may be possible that the passenger may have to file multiple claims depending on the extent of damages. For example, the passenger is an occupant of a vehicle that was rear-ended by another party. The passenger may file a claim against the insurance policy of that party and/or the policy of the vehicle they were riding in. In situations involving excessive damages, the passenger may file a claim against their own Uninsured/Under-insured Motorist Protection (UM) if available. For more information, contact an experienced Ione personal injury lawyer.
