High Speed Collision Injures 4
A high speed collision took place in a Del Paso Heights neighborhood on Saturday, April 22, 2017. Four people were hospitalized for their injuries due to the accident.
What Happened?
A two-car accident involving high speed took place along Elm Street and Harris Avenue at approximately 5:31 pm. The impact from the collision caused severe body damage to both vehicles.
According to Sacramento Police Department spokeswoman, Linda Matthew, three people were traveling in one car and one person in the other car. Matthew reported that firefighters had to extricate at least one person in each vehicle due to the accident.
Two out of the four victims injured were in critical condition due to the collision. All four people were transported to the hospital. The status of their conditions has not yet been released.
What Caused the Collision?
Details regarding what caused the collision has not yet been released by police. It generally takes authorities from 7 to 10 days to process a Traffic Collision Report. However, speeding was declared as a factor in the accident. Investigators will be looking into whether drunk driving also played a part in the collision and one motorist is being evaluated.
