Highway Crash in Fairfield Puts Two in the Hospital
On Tuesday, March 9, 2021, two people suffered serious injuries during a highway crash in Fairfield. California Highway Patrol (CHP) traffic officers report that the crash took place in the late morning on the western side of the city and involved a single passenger vehicle. The incident is still reportedly under investigation by the CHP.
Crash Details
The accident took place at around 11:10 a.m. on Highway 12, just east of the junction of Highway Interstate 80 outside of the Jelly Belly candy factory. Two people were traveling eastbound in a blue Ford Mustang of an unreported year when, for unknown reasons, the car traveled off of the right-hand side of the highway. After it drove off the highway, the mustang continued until it crashed into the base of the Jelly Belly company’s large sign. Photos of the collision show major damage to the driver’s side of the car.
Response
After the collision, witnesses called CHP to notify them about what happened, and dispatchers sent a team of emergency officials to the site. When they arrived, firefighters discovered that both the driver and passenger of the vehicle had sustained severe trauma. Both men were placed on stretchers and driven to a local hospital for immediate medical attention. Details about their injuries were not specified.
Investigation
While CHP investigators look into the accident, officials have not reported likely causes at this time. Frequently, solo-vehicle collisions are more complicated than they appear and may involve one or more factors outside of driver influence. Non-driver solo-vehicle auto accident factors include things like issues with damaged pavement or faulty auto parts. When these kinds of factors contribute to collisions, parties other than the involved motorist may share responsibility for accident damages, meaning they can be held liable through personal injury claims.
Personal Injury Damages
Auto accident injuries can be painful, and it often takes a long time for survivors to regain their health. In some cases, accident survivors even sustain injuries that affect them for the rest of their lives, causing issues like limited mobility or chronic pain. Not only is dealing with these issues difficult, but it can be expensive as well. Often, medical expenses are very high, and many accident survivors are also facing a loss of income because their injuries have impacted their ability to work.
Getting Help
While it can be distressing to be in such a difficult situation, it is often possible to get help by working with a Fairfield personal injury lawyer to seek compensation from at-fault parties and/or insurance companies. In many cases, survivors can claim full payments for the economic and personal losses they have suffered.
To learn more about how you might be able to benefit from a personal injury claim, it’s best to obtain personal advice from a skilled attorney.
