Hit-and-Run Accident Fatally Injures Man Near Manteca

What Happened?
Officers from the Manteca Police Department were dispatched to the scene of a pedestrian accident along the 1200 block of West Lathrop Road in the vicinity of North Union Road at approximately 8:40 pm. When officials arrived, they located an injured 34-year-old male pedestrian at the scene. The area was closed for several hours by authorities to conduct a hit-and-run investigation.
Indentity of Victim Remains Unknown
The identity of the victim has not yet been released by the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office. It usually takes a few days for officials to identify and notify next of kin of the deceased. Once that has been accomplished, the Coroner will release victim identity to the public.
