Hit-and-Run Accident Lodi

A woman was driving in her vehicle with her young child when she was struck by a hit-and-run motorist in Lodi during the morning hours of Monday, April 10, 2017. Unfortunately, the collision caused her vehicle to crash into the front yard of a nearby home.
What Happened?
A woman was driving in her 2008 Chevrolet Uplander with her young child at approximately 10:30 am. The woman was traveling westbound along Tienda Lane in the vicinity of Heidelberg Way. At the same time, a white Jeep was traveling southbound along Heidelberg Way. The driver of the Jeep allegedly drove through the stop sign and broadsided the passenger side of the Chevrolet.
The impact of the collision caused the Jeep to lose control and propelled the woman’s Chevrolet into a home located along the 2300 block of Tienda Lane. The woman’s vehicle took out two trees moments before coming to a rest just two inches from the home.
Thankfully, the woman and her young child in the vehicle were uninjured in the crash.
Jeep Driver Flees Scene
Officers from the Lodi Police Department were dispatched to the scene of the collision. When authorities arrived, they discovered the crashed Chevrolet with a crunched front-end and a driver’s airbag that deployed upon impact with the trees.
Officers were unable to locate the motorist of the Jeep because the driver fled from the scene after the collision. However, they were able to obtain the front bumper of the Jeep with the license plate attached because it was embedded along the side of the Chevrolet.
Authorities got into contact with the family members of the motorist in the Jeep. The family members confirmed the identity of the person that was behind the wheel of the Jeep. The identity of the motorist has not yet been released.
