Hit-and-Run Accident on Main Street
The Oakley Police Department reported a hit-and-run accident with injuries on Main Street on July 2, 2023. The crash occurred shortly after 12:05 a.m. at the intersection of Charles Way and Main Street, officials said.
Details on the Hit-and-Run Accident on Main Street in Oakley
A preliminary release by Oakley PD revealed that a sedan and a Toyota pickup were involved in a collision at the intersection of Charles Way and Main Street. The Toyota allegedly overturned in the crash. The sedan driver allegedly left the scene following the crash. The occupants in the Toyota sustained injuries. Officials have not yet specified if the injured parties were transported to the hospital for treatment.
Oakley PD officers conducted an investigation into the hit-and-run accident and located the suspect vehicle parked at the intersection of Babbe Street and Martin Street. Officials located three men, all Oakley residents. Investigators determined that all three parties were associated with the suspect car and were impaired, none of which were the fleeing motorist.
Upon further investigation, Oakley PD officers located the driver of the suspect vehicle walking along Main Street. A 55-year-old Oakley man was arrested and booked on charges of felony hit and run. Additional information on the hit-and-run accident at Charles Way and Main Street in Oakley was not immediately available. An investigation is ongoing by officers with Oakley PD.
