Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident Modesto
I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto personal injury attorney. A pedestrian was struck by a hit-and-run driver during the afternoon hours of Saturday, March 25, 2017. Sadly, the victim suffered traumatic injuries due to the pedestrian accident.
What Happened?
An elderly woman was walking in a crosswalk along Paradise Road in the vicinity of Ellen Avenue at about 1:00 pm. A motorist of a red sedan was traveling westbound along Paradise Road when they crashed into the woman. The sedan allegedly drove away from the scene moments after the crash.
According to a witness, the impact of the collision propelled the woman into the air. Fortunately, the witness was able to follow the suspect’s vehicle and obtain a partial license plate. The hit-and-run driver has not yet been found.
Victim Suffers Traumatic Injuries
The victim of the pedestrian accident was identified as 67-year-old Kann Sao. Sao suffered traumatic injuries including a broken nose and a fractured pelvis. Sao received surgery on her nose and has been released from the hospital. Sao is still recovering from her injuries and is unfortunately unable to walk.

Hit-and-run accidents involving pedestrians are among the most serious type of accidents. The reason being is that a pedestrian has no form of protection against a motor vehicle. If a motorist crashes into a pedestrian and flees from the scene without calling 911, the victim may suffer traumatic or even fatal injuries if aid is not rendered immediately.
