Seriousness of an Accident Involving a Falling Tree
Falling tree accidents can have serious, sometimes even fatal consequences. In a matter of seconds, a falling tree can cause damage to people and property alike. Common injuries from falling trees include broken bones, head trauma, spinal cord injuries and even death. It is also important to remember that the financial toll of these accidents goes beyond medical bills and lost wages due to missed work in addition to your pain and suffering.
Seeking Medical Attention and Contacting an Injury Lawyer
If you have been injured by a falling tree, it is important that you seek immediate medical attention first and foremost. Then, you should contact an experienced personal injury attorney who can help protect your rights and get the compensation you deserve. It is essential to hold the negligent party responsible for their actions and to know that you are not alone in this process. By taking the appropriate steps, you can ensure that justice is served and that no one else has to experience the devastating effects of a tree accident.
California Responsibility in Tree Accidents
Tree owners in California have a responsibility to ensure the safety of those on their property from falling tree accidents. Liability when trees fall and cause injuries or fatalities can depend on their location. The homeowner is responsible for trees on their own property. If the tree straddles a property line, both homeowners may be liable for injuries from a falling tree. If the tree stands on commercial or government property, those entities may be liable.
