Interstate 5 Crash Kills San Jose Resident
I’m Ed Smith, a West Sacramento car accident lawyer. A vehicle carrying four occupants was traveling southbound on Interstate 5 shortly before midnight on January 16, 2017. The driver lost control of the vehicle which resulted in a tragic car accident.
What Happened?
Four occupants were traveling in a vehicle at approximately 11:55 pm along the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in the vicinity of the Richards Boulevard off-ramp. An occupant in the front passenger seat reached over and accidentally bumped the motorist’s arm. This caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle by turning the steering wheel to the right. The car drove off the roadway and overturned several times, which resulted in two of the passengers being ejected.
Were There Injuries
The four people in the vehicle suffered injuries due to the car accident and were transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment. The types of injuries these occupants suffered in the collision are unknown at this time.
Crash Kills Passenger
One of the passengers, 25-year-old Harshada Humbarwadi, of San Jose, was riding in the back seat of the vehicle. Humbarwadi was ejected as a result of the crash. Humbarwadi suffered traumatic injuries which included difficulties in breathing. This prompted an officer from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to provide her aid before medical personnel arrived at the scene. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Sadly, she passed away from her injuries shortly after the crash.
Loved One Forever Remembered
Harshada Humbarwadi was a dedicated engineering student devoted to her studies. Humbarwadi received her Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) from Jain College of Engineering in 2014. She also received her Masters of Sciences last year from Texas A&M University in Kingsville.
