Major Injury Crash Happens on Eastbound Jackson Road

A major injury crash occurred in Elk Grove on October 7 that sent at least one person to the hospital. The collision happened along eastbound Jackson Road just west of Grant Line Road around 2:30 p.m. Vehicles involved in the collision included a pickup, Jeep, MOPAR sedan and an SUV.

Cause of Elk Grove Major Injury Crash Being Determined

One vehicle was blocking the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), and at least one had to be towed from the scene. A determination of the accident’s cause is under investigation by CHP traffic crash detectives.

Multiple-Vehicle Accidents and Compensation

When there are multiple vehicles involved in a crash, it is crucial to determine who is at fault, so those who are injured can receive the compensation they deserve. It is common for more than one driver involved in an Elk Grove major injury crash to be negligent for the following reasons:

  • Drivers were not paying attention to traffic when the collision occurred because they were texting, talking to passengers or checking their GPS.
  • As a result of tailgating, a driver slowed in front, causing the other vehicle to strike them, which amplified to include others.
  • Traffic stalled up ahead, but a speeding driver couldn’t slow down in time to avoid a collision.
  • An alcohol-impaired driver alternated between speeding and slowing down and weaving in his/her lane, resulting in a multiple-vehicle crash.
  • In another incident, a driver changed lanes without signaling to alert other drivers.

Evidence Gathering for Injury Claims

To determine the truth about a collision, it is necessary for an accident attorney to investigate it to determine if one or more parties were negligent. To recover compensation, the accident attorney needs to provide evidence as well to support the client’s compensation claim. It is unlikely that the claim will succeed without it.

Types of Collected Evidence to Support a Client’s Claim

Evidence is key to ensuring that insurance companies will pay injured parties fair compensation. The following methods are used to collect evidence after an Elk Grove major injury crash. It is also important to interview any witnesses to the collision because they may be able to provide important details about what happened, such as how the vehicles collided.

  • Witnesses have sometimes filmed accidents as they occurred, which provides strong evidence.
  • Photographs of the scene and other evidence are collected by our investigators as soon as possible after the Elk Grove major injury crash occurs.
  • Detectives investigate the area businesses and traffic cameras to see if a multiple-vehicle crash was recorded. It is possible to subpoena evidence of this nature for use in negotiating with the insurance company or in a civil case.
  • Accident reconstruction provides useful evidence to investigators since it shows how the vehicles were positioned before and during the accident.
  • Double-checking the police report ensures its accuracy, without which, the claim may not succeed.
