The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a major injury crash on Albers Road just north of State Route 132 near the Modesto area on the morning of Sunday, August 29, 2021. The car accident occurred around 8:45 a.m. and involved a gray Dodge pickup truck and a white Toyota SUV.

Details on the Crash Resulting in Major Injuries on Albers Road Near Modesto

CHP traffic officers revealed in a preliminary report that two adults and four children were injured in the incident. However, the types of injuries each party sustained were not immediately disclosed. Officials said at least one minor was taken via air ambulance to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera for treatment.

Authorities reported that the Dodge pickup truck hauling a trailer came to a rest in the road. However, the personal watercraft the truck was transporting was propelled against a wire fence along the east side of the roadway. The impact caused the Toyota to veer off the road and end up along the east shoulder of Albers Road in a ditch. Additional details on the traffic collision were not immediately available.

What You Should Know About Car Accidents and the Claims Process

A motor vehicle collision is an all-too-common occurrence on the roads of Modesto and throughout California. However, such situations may turn the lives of those involved upside down. When you have been hurt in a crash through no fault of your own, you may be able to seek financial compensation to make you whole again. This process generally involves bringing a personal injury claim against the insurance company representing the other party. While you may expect that the insurer will be fair when it comes to compensating you for your medical bills, lost income, pain and suffering, and other losses, that is not always the case.

Keep in mind that you have a limited amount of time to bring a claim for damages with the insurer or else you may lose the right to recovery of damages incurred. Under the California Code of Civil Procedure Section 335.1, a lawsuit must be filed within two years of the incident date if you have not accepted a settlement from the insurer within that deadline. The statute of limitations may be tolled in the case of a minor who was hurt in a traffic collision. For this reason, it is crucial to work with an experienced accident attorney who can advise you of the factors that are involved in the claims process. For more information, watch this video.

How Our Law Firm Can Help You

When you have been injured in a traffic collision that was caused by another driver’s recklessness or carelessness, our injury lawyers may help you seek the financial compensation you need and deserve by:

  • Conducting an independent investigation into the traffic collision to gather and preserve evidence such as crash surveillance footage, photos of the crash scene, police accident reports, statements from eyewitnesses, medical records, and more
  • Identifying the parties and entities responsible for the incident in question
  • Working with expert witnesses to devise a compelling argument establishing serious injuries and losses incurred
  • Communicating and negotiating with insurers
  • Filing a lawsuit in civil court if the insurance company is not willing to agree on a fair settlement
  • Preparing your case to present to a jury and judge

The unfortunate reality is that after a car accident, insurance companies will be working on your claim to find any details to dispute your injuries and damages incurred. They do so as a way of protecting their bottom line. There are various defense tactics that insurers may use to downplay the value of your bodily injury claim or outright deny it. Our legal team will work to protect your interests and seek a financial recovery that provides you the means necessary in moving forward with your life after the car accident.
