Major Injury Napa Crash
I’m Ed Smith, a Napa car accident lawyer. The Sheriff’s Office of Napa County recently reported that a major injury collision occurred in the area on the morning of Thursday, December 7, 2017.
Collision Details
California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers reported that the auto accident occurred at the intersection of Yountville Cross Road and Silverado trail near the city of Yountville at approximately 6:20 a.m. Officers indicated that the crash involved three separate vehicles but did not provide further information about the particular circumstances of the accident or how the vehicles collided.
It was reported that the crash caused one of the vehicles to veer off of the roadway and fall about 30 feet down a nearby ravine.
Injuries
Two individuals involved in the accident only sustained minor injuries. A third individual was reported to have sustained severe traumatic injuries and was transported by ambulance to the nearby Queen of the Valley medical center to receive emergency treatment. Updates on the injured individual’s condition have not yet been released to the public.
Traffic
The accident reportedly caused heavy traffic in the area as CHP had to shut down Silverado Trail for hours in order to respond to and properly investigate the accident scene. The major roadway was reportedly re-opened after work crews finished clearing wreckage at about 8:45 a.m.
Investigation
What caused this accident is currently unknown and authorities are engaged in an active investigation. CHP made no indication as to whether they suspect DUI to have been a causal factor in the crash.
Anybody who may have helpful information about this accident can call CHP’s non-emergency telephone number, 1-800-TELL-CHP in order to aid in the investigation.
Another Recent Napa Accident
Another Napa collision recently happened on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. CHP said that the accident occurred at the American Canyon Road/Highway 29 intersection at about 1 p.m. The collision occurred between two pickup trucks and caused major damages to both vehicles.
The Sheriff’s Office initially warned that the crash may have involved major injuries, but later reported that none of the individuals involved in the accident had been hurt.
Making Sure
Many people who are involved in car accidents sustain injuries without being aware of it. Shock and adrenaline can prevent injured individuals from noticing that they are injured and can cause people to turn down medical service that they need. Additionally, injuries such as concussions can take hours, and even days until symptoms are evident.
If you’ve been in an accident, you should always see a medical professional in order to make sure that you haven’t sustained an injury. Untreated injuries can often become worse and lead to people suffering more severe secondary injuries.
