Fatal Napa City Car Crash
A man tragically lost his life during a Napa City car crash that took place on Saturday, January 11, 2020. The Napa County Sheriff’s Office released the identity of the decedent two days later, identifying him as Napa resident Franklin Daniel Martinez. According to information from California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident only involved one vehicle, and nobody other than Mr. Martinez suffered injuries during the incident.
Accident Details
Martinez had been driving a Honda Civic on Hardman Avenue heading east and had just passed Silverado Trail at about 1:30 a.m. At this time, his vehicle traveled off the road, traveling a short distance before striking a large tree. Police say that they are currently unsure of why the vehicle veered off-road.
When first responders arrived at the scene of the accident, they discovered that Martinez suffered critical injuries during the crash. Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the collision site.
Investigation
CHP has reported that they have investigators actively looking into possible causes of the crash. However, investigating crashes like this one for which it is impossible for drivers to give testimony about what happened, makes it difficult. When this is the case, investigators are liable to overlook important factors like hazardous roads or defective car parts.
In order to make sure that a crash is fully investigated with your family’s right to compensation in mind, it’s vital to reach out to a local wrongful death lawyer. Your attorney will be able to launch a private investigation into the accident and commit their resources and skill to find out if any negligence was involved.
Wrongful Death Claims
Losing a loved one is a tragedy. When people hear the news of a fatal crash, they often experience very intense grief and find it difficult or even impossible to keep up with their daily lives. It’s important for grieving people to treat themselves with care and seek support from their loved ones and community. However, financial concerns can make it difficult for grieving families to focus on their personal wellbeing.
Fatal accidents often cause a loss of income for families. Many families also lose access to services such as childcare or home maintenance that their loved one used to perform. The presence of your loved one can never be replaced, but these financial losses can often be covered by filing a wrongful death claim. Furthermore, wrongful death claims also often include payments for personal pain and suffering that can help people have security during a difficult time.
