There are cultural holiday events, sports events, art events, and so much more. The best part is that if you live in or near Stockton, these events are all within driving distance. 33rd Annual Pastels USA: Opening Reception

Time: 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Location: 1201 N. Pershing Ave, Stockton, CA 95203

This annual exhibition has nationwide popularity, with accredited pastel painters from all over the country that submit their own work in hopes of being featured. The medium that is referred to as pastel can be described as a powdered pigment that is ground into a paste and mixed with a gum binder. It is then rolled into a stick and resembles a chalk-like substance, except much more permanent. Join the Haggin Museum on Thursday night for the opening reception, where you can explore the new exhibit while indulging in snacks and a glass of wine.
