Minor injuries were reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) after a crash in the Lodi area on the afternoon of Monday, June 15, 2021. The traffic collision occurred near the intersection of East Kettleman Lane and North Vintage Road shortly after 12:00 p.m.

Details on the Car Crash Reported in Lodi

A preliminary report by officials revealed that a green Mercedes-Benz E320 sedan was involved in a crash with a farm trailer. An American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance was requested at the scene to provide assistance to those injured, CHP traffic officers reported. Additional information on the farming accident, including what caused it and the number of injured parties, was not immediately available.

Things You Should Know After Getting into an Accident with a Farm Tractor

If you were hurt in a motor vehicle collision caused by another driver, you cannot depend on the insurance company representing the other party to fairly compensate you. It is their job to downplay the value of your personal injury claim or outright deny it. That is because insurance carriers are in the business of protecting their bottom line. What is most unfortunate is that many people do not know about this and often delay speaking with an attorney until the insurance adjuster has made an unfair settlement offer, shifted liability onto them for the incident, or stopped returning phone calls or e-mails.

These are some of the many defense tactics that insurance companies use to devalue or deny claims filed against their insured. What is more unfathomable is that the same approach may apply to first-party insurance claims under uninsured/underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) coverage. This is why it is essential to work with an attorney immediately after a traffic collision involving a farm tractor, particularly when you have suffered injuries. Even what seems to be a minor crash may be an ongoing challenge with insurers in California.

Each personal injury claim for a farming accident has unique facts and circumstances that may impact the value of the case. As an at-fault state, California law allows injured people to bring claims against insurance companies representing negligent parties. In the case of a farm accident, liability may lie with the operator of the tractor, the company that owns it, the entity that maintains it, and the manufacturer. Even if liability is clear, that does not necessarily mean that an injured party may receive fair compensation for their losses. Importance of Working with an Attorney on a Personal Injury Claim

Dealing with the insurance company representing the other driver can be challenging as it carries various risks and consequences. Claims adjusters are trained to protect the best interest of the insurance company and may attempt to persuade claimants into accepting a quick settlement offer. Such offers may not take into account the extent of resulting injuries and damages. In the case of a farming accident, different challenges may arise as several negligent parties may be involved. A skilled injury lawyer can help an injured party navigate the legal process effectively and handle all aspects of their case on their behalf.
