Modesto Hit-and-Run DUI Accident
I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto personal injury lawyer. A suspected DUI driver that allegedly caused two car accidents in Modesto was arrested by authorities during the evening hours of Friday, March 3, 2017.
What Happened?
A driver was traveling along Oakdale Road in the vicinity of Mable Road when he was involved in a car accident with another vehicle. The driver fled from the scene of the accident and was involved in a second collision in front of Beyer High School. The suspect attempted to flee from the scene but witnesses were able to catch up with him and detained him until authorities arrived.

Officer Arrives At Accident Scene
An officer arrived at the scene of the second car accident along Sylvan Avenue. The officer was informed that two victims were injured as a result of the accident. The extent of their injuries have not yet been released. Authorities also have not yet disclosed if anyone was injured in the initial hit-and-run crash along Oakdale Road.
Authorities Arrest Suspected DUI Driver
The alleged reckless driver that was involved in both accidents was identified as 34-year-old Jose Campos Jr. He was detained by authorities on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run.
