More Than Half of All Accidents Happen at Intersections

Intersections are hotspots for a Modesto intersection collision, with over half of all accidents happening at these crucial points. The main culprits are often acts of negligence, as intersections are complex areas where vehicles, motorbikes, pedestrians, and cyclists cross paths. Here are some common causes of intersection accidents:

  • Running red lights: Drivers who ignore red lights frequently cause intersection collisions.
  • Speeding: Excessive speed can prevent a driver from stopping in time when the light changes, often resulting in rear-end collisions.
  • Improper left turns: Drivers making left turns on a red arrow sometimes misjudge the arrival of oncoming traffic.
  • Right turns: Accidents often happen when drivers focus on oncoming vehicles from the left, neglecting pedestrians or cyclists crossing from the right.
  • Distracted driving: Activities like texting divert a driver’s attention from the road, leading to accidents.
  • Drunk driving: Driving under the influence is a common cause of all types of traffic collisions, including those at intersections.
  • Road hazards: Issues like potholes or malfunctioning traffic lights can lead to crashes. The government entity in charge of maintenance may be responsible.
  • Vehicle defects: Problems like sticking accelerators or brake failures can cause accidents. Manufacturers may be liable in such cases through auto product liability claims.

Conducting an Intersection Accident Investigation

When negligence or other factors lead to a Modesto intersection collision, gathering solid evidence is crucial for compensation claims. Our investigative team excels in uncovering the necessary proof, focusing on the following areas:

  • Police reports: We scrutinize these documents for errors that could impact the compensation case.
  • Traffic camera footage: If cameras capture the accident, we can subpoena this footage to demonstrate negligence.
  • Witness testimonies: Interviewing witnesses can reveal vital details, and some may have even recorded the incident.
  • Accident reconstruction: This process helps to illustrate the vehicle positions and the sequence of events leading to the crash.

Our skilled injury lawyers compile this gathered evidence to build a compelling case, enhancing our client’s chances of receiving the compensation they deserve. Recoverable compensation includes all of your medical bills, wages that were lost, and your pain and suffering.
