Modesto Overturned Car Crash
I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto car accident attorney. A frightening incident took place in Modesto where a car accident resulted in a vehicle overturning on the roadway. Fortunately, the occupants inside the overturned vehicle survived the accident.
What Happened?
A female motorist was behind the wheel of her Chrysler PT Cruiser driving along Scenic Drive in Modesto. For unknown reasons, the motorist struck a parked vehicle which propelled the PT Cruiser into a Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound. The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle came to a complete stop on its side on Bodem Street in the vicinity of Morris Avenue.

The following video shows the scene of the crash. Firefighters extricated the occupants in the Chrysler PT Cruiser by cutting and removing the windshield of the vehicle so they could get out safely.
What Types of Injuries?
When firefighters arrived to the scene, they observed hair and a hand through a crack in the sunroof. Firefighters quickly worked to remove the windshield of the vehicle in 15 minutes. The passenger of the vehicle was crouched on her feet and was able to get out after the windshield was removed. However, the driver could not get out and was stuck in the seat of her vehicle. According to Jesse Nicasio, a Battalion Chief for the Modesto Fire Department, reported that firefighters crawled inside the vehicle to assist the trapped driver inside the PT Cruiser. A firefighter entered the vehicle through the windshield to get behind the driver and positioning the driver upright to safely exit the vehicle through the windshield. Thankfully, the two woman that were trapped inside their Chrysler PT Cruiser were fortunate to escape from the vehicle with minor injuries.
