Motorcyclist Killed in Jamestown Big Rig Crash
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a motorcyclist was killed after a big rig crash in the Jamestown area on the morning of September 5, 2020. The truck accident occurred around 11:50 a.m. on eastbound State Route 120 just west of Green Springs Road. A man riding a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle had pulled over onto the north shoulder of Highway 120 to help a disabled bike. When he finished helping, he started his bike and entered the eastbound lanes of SR-120. At the same time, a 2012 Kenworth truck hauling a flatbed trailer with a bulldozer was headed eastbound on the roadway in the No. 2 lane.
For unknown reasons, the big rig collided with the biker. Sadly, the motorcycle rider, 68-year-old Phillip Allen Luckert from Modesto, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the trucking collision upon the arrival of officials.

Types of Damages in a Wrongful Death Action
No amount of money can ever make up for the loss of a loved one or erase the pain that has been caused as a result of a wrongful death truck accident. However, survivors do not deserve to suffer emotionally and financially from the negligence of a truck driver or trucking company. Our law firm will help recover the following economic and non-economic damages in your wrongful death case:
- Costs of a loved one’s funeral and burial services
- Final medical expenses related to the wrongful death truck accident such as medical transportation, hospitalization, surgery, and other costs of treatment incurred before the decedent passed away.
- Loss of affection, protection, companionship, and society the decedent offered to their surviving family members.
- Lost future financial contributions to the family, like future earnings, employment benefits, inheritance, pension, and more.
- Mental anguish the family experiences after the loss of a loved one in a fatal trucking collision.
- Punitive damages may be sought by a wrongful death lawyer on behalf of a family who has lost a loved one to egregious conduct such as DUI or excessive speeding.
