How Can a Wrongful Death Claim Help Survivors?
The loss of a close relative is one of the most devastating events that surviving family members may experience, especially when the death was unexpected and preventable. If the loss was due to a motorcycle accident caused by a negligent driver or entity, a family may have grounds for a wrongful death claim against the other side and their insurer. Eligible survivors may seek reimbursement for intangible harm and financial losses like mental anguish, loss of companionship, funeral service costs, loss of future financial support, and more.
When considering a wrongful death action, you and your family may have many questions about the claims process and what to expect from your case moving forward. Getting answers and seeking compensation for what was lost after the unexpected loss of a close relative may be difficult. It requires navigating the potentially challenging insurance issues and legal procedures that may arise during the process. This is where the assistance of an experienced attorney comes in.

Is There a Time Limit to File for Wrongful Death in California?
There is a deadline for wrongful death claims in California. Survivors generally have two years from the date of a loved one’s death from an accident to file in civil court. When the deadline has passed, and the case is not filed, the family may lose the right to seek damages from the other side. That is why a family needs the assistance of a skilled accident lawyer, such as ours from AutoAccident.com, who can help them throughout the recovery process.
