Traffic Collision at Fair Oaks Intersection Causes Major Injury
A major injury to a motorcyclist occurred in Fair Oaks on July 11 after the rider was reportedly struck by a motor vehicle. The collision occurred at the intersection of Dewey Drive and Madison Avenue in front of the Safeway around 6:22 p.m. between the rider and the driver of a Nissan Rogue. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) traffic report, the Nissan ended up in the turn lane, and the rider was on the right-hand side of the road.
Motorcyclist Hospitalized
The accident blocked all of the southbound lanes on Dewey Drive. First responders with the Sacramento Fire Department determined that the motorcyclist had suffered a major injury in the Fair Oaks accident and transported the rider to a nearby hospital. The roadway was closed for about an hour, while an investigation into the accident was conducted.
