Accident on SR 51 Injures Motorcycle Rider
Minor injuries were reported in an October 20 accident in Sacramento when a motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a Caltrans truck. The accident occurred around 8:54 in the evening at northbound State Route 51 and the Marconi Avenue exit ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The report by the police stated that a caller reporting the collision said they saw the crash occur through their rearview mirror and that the motorcycle crashed into the back of the truck.
Caltrans Truck Involved in Accident With Motorcyclist
One lane was blocked on northbound SR 51 just south of Marconi Avenue, and debris was strewn in the middle lane as a result of the crash. The driver of the hit Caltrans truck continued on, perhaps not realizing his vehicle had been struck, and was called back to the accident scene. The CHP is investigating the accident further to determine precisely how it happened.
Causes of Motorcycle Accidents
Riding a motorcycle is more dangerous than a motor vehicle. However, most riders are cautious and understand how to avoid an accident. Sometimes, an accident happens anyway and is out of the rider’s control. Some reasons these accidents occur include:
- A vehicle that stops suddenly without warning: If a vehicle in front of a motorcyclist slams on the brakes suddenly, the rider may have no time to stop or maneuver out of the way, causing a rear-end crash and life-threatening or minor injuries.
- Debris or problems with the roadway: The government entity in charge of maintenance may be held responsible financially if a motorcyclist is injured in an accident because of shoddy maintenance. Because there is a shorter timeline for filing than in other personal injury cases, having an experienced lawyer to advise you can be helpful.
- Defective parts: A defect in a motorcycle’s tires, brakes, or other parts can end up causing a collision. A product liability suit may be placed against the manufacturer or others in these cases.
- Vehicle interference: Many motorists are not attuned to seeing a motorcyclist on the road. A motorist may cut in front of a motorcycle rider, switch lanes without looking, or rear-end one at a stoplight. Any of these actions can result in an accident, causing severe or minor injuries to the rider.
Minor Injuries After a Motorcycle Accident

Accident Investigation
An investigation is critical to successfully concluding a client’s compensation claim. Our investigators check the bike for defects, photograph any problems with the roadway, and look over the police report for errors. In addition, they interview witnesses and perform accident reconstruction. They also check for surveillance cameras that may have taped the accident.
