Multi-Vehicle Redding Crash Fatally Injures Motorcyclist
Authorities of the Redding Police Department (RPD) have reported that one person was fatally injured during an auto accident that took place on Thursday, June 13, 2019. The crash reportedly involved two vehicles including a motorcycle and pickup truck. Officials from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Department reported that they have been able to identify the fatally injured individual. However, his identity is being withheld pending his family’s notification. I would like to express my condolences to the friends and family of the individual who tragically passed away because of this accident.
Crash Information
Police reported that the accident took place at about 10:00 p.m. A motorcyclist was traveling south on Highway 273 on a 2003 Suzuki. Officials say that the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed when he collided with a 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 in the area of Breslauer Way near Canyon Drive. Further details about how the collision took place have not yet been provided.
According to reports, emergency responders were sent to the crash site shortly after the accident took place. When medical officials arrived at the accident location, they found that the motorcyclist had been seriously injured, despite wearing proper safety gear. Tragically, responders were not able to treat his injuries, and the man was declared deceased before being placed on an ambulance.
Investigation
RPD has stated that they are currently investigating this collision in order to determine what causal factors were involved. Police said that they have determined that the driver of the pickup truck had not been under the influence at the time of the accident. So far, no suspected factors have been mentioned by investigating officers. Motorcycle accidents are very likely to cause serious injuries and are frequently caused by factors such as vehicle part defects, medical issues, reckless driving, dangerous roadways, and more.
The Cost of Fatal Accidents
Losing a person you love during an auto accident is often emotionally devastating, and many people go through an intense period of grieving after hearing the news of a tragic accident. However, fatal vehicle accidents can also leave families with serious financial problems as well. Losing a family member can mean losing a source of income that your household depends on or no longer having access to household services such as cleaning, home repair, and childcare.
While the love and care of a family member or friend can never be replaced, those who’ve suffered damages related to fatal accidents can often claim payments for their losses by pursuing wrongful death claims. However, the types of payments available vary widely depending on the circumstances of each case. If you think you may have a viable wrongful death claim, the best thing you can do is get advice from a Redding wrongful death lawyer directly.
