Hit-and-Run Driver Flees Folsom Boulevard Crash
A multiple-vehicle crash that involved a hit-and-run driver occurred near Sacramento on January 22. The accident happened in the La Riviera area near Rosemont around 10:29 in the morning along Folsom Boulevard. Additional Information About the Multiple-Vehicle Crash

Injuries were initially reported, although no additional information was released. In addition, information about the extent and type of injuries that were involved was not released as of the time of this report.
Multiple-Vehicle Accidents
There are a number of causes of multiple-vehicle collisions. However, most of them involve negligence by at least one of the drivers. Some of the reasons an accident of this type happens include:
- Tailgating: One of the drivers was tailgating and didn’t notice that the vehicle in front had slowed or stopped. This behavior causes the driver to lose control and not stop in time, causing a rear-end accident. This loss of control is often the beginning of a multiple-vehicle crash since the rear-ended car is often pushed into the vehicle ahead. Since many accidents are not in a straight line, one or both vehicles could be pushed into an adjacent lane, involving other cars.
- Speeding: Speeding is considered a type of reckless driving. The motorist who is speeding has less control over their vehicle and needs a longer stopping distance in an emergency. Because of this, it can result in a multiple-vehicle crash.
- Drinking and driving: Alcohol consumption is still a significant reason for all traffic accidents. Under the influence of alcohol, a driver has reduced reflexes, poor judgment, and even the motorist’s vision is adversely affected. Drunk drivers often cause a multiple-vehicle crash.
- Distracted driving: When distracted by texting or other tasks, a driver pays little if any attention to the road ahead. Slowed or stopped traffic ahead will not be seen in time to avoid a crash.
Hit-and-Run Drivers in a Multiple-Vehicle Crash
Depending on their position in a multiple-vehicle crash and traffic congestion, a driver may leave the scene of the accident. This departure is especially problematic if the fleeing driver was responsible for the initial impact. Other drivers, who were injured in the accident, may be worried about how their damages will be compensated. That is why our law firm helps such clients use their underinsured/uninsured auto policy to cover the costs.
What Is Uninsured/Underinsured Insurance?
This add-on to motor vehicle insurance in California is offered to all drivers. Although the individual driver can reject it, many motorists opt for this addition to their auto insurance. It allows the owner of their vehicle and family members to seek damages in bicycle, pedestrian, and vehicular accidents. There is no premium increase associated with uninsured/underinsured insurance, and it covers every household member. Damages, however, are usually limited to the extent of auto insurance coverage.
Investigating a Multiple-Vehicle Crash
Our investigative team is sent to the site of the multiple-vehicle crash to gather evidence. This includes interviewing witnesses, obtaining videos of the accident, and doing accident reconstruction to determine liability. We also review police reports used by insurance companies and the courts to look for mistakes. The investigators also work to locate the fleeing vehicle. Once all this information is gathered, our injury lawyers use it to construct a strong case for our client.
