Injury Reported in Bradshaw Road Multiple-Vehicle Crash
On March 16, a multiple-vehicle crash in Sacramento caused injuries to at least one person. The collision occurred around 4:40 p.m. on southbound Bradshaw Road just north of Florin Road near Vineyard, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The accident involved two sedans, an SUV, and another unknown vehicle and partially blocked the slow lane on Bradshaw Road.
One Person Transported to Hospital Following a Multiple-Vehicle Crash
Emergency responders were called to the scene to assess injuries in the crash and transported one patient to Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center with what appeared to be facial injuries. The CHP is conducting an investigation to discover how and why the collision occurred. The roadway was reopened shortly after 5:00 p.m.
Filing for Compensation Following a Multiple-Vehicle Crash
To receive injury compensation following a crash involving multiple vehicles, it must be shown that another individual or entity was at fault. This is where our investigators come in. Because a multiple-vehicle crash has to be investigated to determine which driver/drivers were responsible, evidence has to be carefully collected to prove a claim.
For example, driver two might have been speeding and crashed into vehicle number one, who had no liability. In addition to speeding, driver number two also had non-working tail lights. This complicates the situation since a third driver didn’t realize the vehicle ahead had non-working tail lights and crashed into car number two. In this case, driver number two is responsible for any injuries that might result from their carelessness.
How an Injury Lawyer Helps
Our law office has successfully helped many Northern Californians over the years in obtaining fair compensation following a multiple-vehicle crash. We think that those who are injured by someone else’s negligence shouldn’t have to pay for their own injuries. In order to place a claim for compensation, the accident has to be investigated, and evidence gathered to support the client’s claim, which includes:
- Our trained investigative team heads right away to the accident site to begin collecting evidence to support our client’s claim.
- They examine the police report to ensure it is error-free and talk to the witnesses. In some cases, a witness filmed the multiple-vehicle crash on their cell phone, which provides powerful evidence.
- The area is searched for traffic, road, and business surveillance cameras. If the accident has been captured on tape, this provides good proof of how the collision occurred and which driver/drivers were negligent.
- The investigators perform accident reconstruction. This type of evidence shows the positions of the vehicles before, during, and after the crash, which can also point toward fault.
- Signs of government negligence are examined and noted. Potholes, poor design or lighting, overgrown trees, and other problems can cause a multiple-vehicle accident for which the government entity can be held responsible. However, the timeline for filing against a government entity is much shorter than with other personal injury cases. This makes it important to contact a lawyer as soon as possible to avoid missing the deadline and assure the paperwork is filled out correctly.
When the evidence in the case is collected together, it is given over to our injury lawyers. They use this evidence to build a strong case that benefits our client’s claim for compensation.
