Napa Solo Vehicle Accident
I’m Ed Smith. I’m a Napa personal injury lawyer. On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, a collision in rural Napa County left one individual with traumatic injuries.
Accident Details
According to information included in preliminary reports from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident occurred at around 3:42 PM at the entrance to State Route 29 from Livermore Road.
Officers reported that, while driving on the rural road, a driver lost control of their vehicle for unknown reasons. After the driver lost control, the vehicle veered off of the roadway and collided with a nearby tree. Reportedly, the vehicle sustained major damage during the impact and came to a rest blocking the entrance to the highway.
Response and Injuries
After receiving a phone call indicating that somebody may have been hurt during the collision, CHP dispatch sent emergency responders to the scene of the accident. Responders found upon arrival that one individual had received traumatic injuries and had the injured person transported to a nearby care center by ground ambulance. Medical officials later reported that the individual suffered moderately severe injuries.
Whether or not there was more than one person involved in this accident has not yet been made clear. However, only one injury was reported.
Losing Control of Your Vehicle
Loss of vehicle control is a factor in many different types of car accidents and drivers lose control of their vehicles for various reasons. However, one common reason that drivers lose control is vehicle malfunctions.
There are many ways that vehicles can malfunction, causing a driver to lose control and end up in a serious crash. Braking systems, steering systems, tires, and many other parts of vehicles have the potential to malfunction and when they do it is often due to a manufacturing defect.
Products Liability
In many of these cases, the manufacturer of the defective product can be held liable for injuries and damages that the product defect caused. In other words, unlike car collisions that are caused by negligent drivers, if the accident is the fault of defective auto products or vehicle parts, you can file a products liability suit against the retailer, seller, and/or maker of the product that caused the accident.
However, products liability cases can be very complex and often consume a great amount of time. Getting an experienced lawyer who knows the ins and outs of the process should be one of the first steps that you take in order to ensure that you receive the compensation you deserve.
