Jeep Compass Experiences Rollover at Kirkby Way Intersection

A major injury was reported by police in North Highlands on June 28, which resulted from a single-vehicle rollover accident. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) report said that the accident occurred at Kirkby Way and Walerga Road around 7:40 in the morning and involved a man in a Jeep Compass compact crossover. When officers arrived at the accident scene, along with responders from the Sacramento Fire Department, they discovered the driver unresponsive behind the wheel of the vehicle.

Driver Transported to Hospital With Major Injury

After the medics performed an assessment, it was determined that he had suffered major injuries, and he was transported to a hospital for more evaluation and treatment. A tow truck removed the vehicle. An investigation is underway by the CHP to determine how the major injury crash occurred.

Why You Can Benefit From a Lawyer’s Advice After a Rollover

While many people may assume that a rollover is always caused by driver error, this is far from the truth. Outside factors may be the cause, which allows the injured party to seek compensation to cover their medical expenses, wages they’ve lost from being unable to work, and that will reimburse them for their pain and suffering. For many years now, my law firm has been successful in handling numerous claims of this type and might be able to help you too. We offer a free consultation to answer your questions, review your case and tell you what options are available.

Causes of a Single-Vehicle Rollover Accident

Although driver error is responsible for most single-vehicle rollover accidents, other factors can come into play that lead to a collision. This is one of the reasons it is important to retain a vehicle following any type of unexplained collision. It allows experts to go over the vehicle to determine the cause of the accident and collect evidence. The following shows examples of ways a rollover crash can occur that is due to an outside influence:

  • Motor vehicle defects can lead to a rollover when a driver can no longer control their car or truck. Dangerous problems with the vehicle can include a tire that blows out, accelerator or brake trouble, steering that suddenly locks up, and engine problems. When a motor vehicle defect causes a rollover accident, the manufacturer, designer, and others can be liable for injuries or fatalities.
  • Aggressive drivers can tailgate, crowd another vehicle or force a driver off the road, which can lead to a major injury accident. When they leave the scene, there may be little evidence that another driver was there. However, investigators can find evidence of another driver and use traffic surveillance and other methods to locate them.
  • Medication problems can lead to a rollover collision. An individual who has been given the wrong prescription or incorrect dosage by a physician can experience sleepiness and other symptoms that can lead to a major injury accident.
  • Neglected roadway maintenance can lead to a rollover. Road problems such as cracks in the pavement and potholes can cause a rollover. The government entity that is supposed to maintain the roadway in good condition can be liable. However, it helps to have an attorney at your side because the statute of limitations for filing against a government entity is much shorter. This will ensure that all paperwork is filed on time. Otherwise, the court will refuse to hear the case.
