One Child Killed and One Critically Injured in Antioch Accident

The other car involved was occupied by a mother and her two children. With one casualty and the other two car occupants in critical condition, this accident is a heartbreaking tragedy. Ford Pickup Truck Runs Red Light

Shortly after 12:45 p.m., a Contra Costa County sheriff located a stolen motor vehicle – a Ford F-250 pickup truck – traveling along Bailey Road. He then began to follow the stolen vehicle as the driver moved eastbound on Highway 4.

After the pickup truck took the Somersville Road exit, he quickly accelerated the pickup truck’s speed. The deputy sheriff activated his emergency lights and then the Ford pickup truck ran past a red light located at the Delta Fair Boulevard intersection. It was then that the driver crashed into a grey Ford F-150 that was traveling south.

According to the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office, the woman and her two babies were taken to local hospitals. Witnesses of the two-car collision say that they saw one child placed in an ambulance with medics concurrently performing CPR. A 2-year-old child remains alive but in critical condition; the other child, 4-years-old, succumbed to her injuries.

Suspect Caught and Booked in Jail

The suspect has now been identified as a 23-year-old Pittsburg resident named Noe Saucedo. Following the accident, Noe also required immediate hospitalization. On that same Wednesday night, Noe was interviewed by detectives before being put under arrest on suspicion of two felony evading accounts as well as one count of murder. Noe has been placed in the Martinez County Jail, with bail posted at a hefty sum of $1,050,000.

The crash is currently being investigated under the collaborative efforts of the Antioch Police Department, the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office, and the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Investigators temporarily shut down travel coming from either direction on Somersville Road nearby the Highway 4 underpass.
