One Killed in Oroville Motorcycle Accident
On Tuesday, July 21, 2020, one person tragically lost his life during an Oroville motorcycle accident. The collision reportedly occurred in the evening near the Feather River Fish Hatchery and, according to the Oroville Police Department (OPD), involved only a single vehicle. The identity of the decedent is being withheld and the cause of the accident remains under OPD investigation at this time.
Crash Information
The accident took place at about 6:30 p.m. on Table Mountain Boulevard at the intersection of Riverview Terrace. Not many details about the events leading up to the incident have been reported. However, OPD indicated that the motorcyclist had been driving north on Table Mountain when, for unknown reasons, he drove off-road and collided with a guard rail just past the intersection.
After OPD received a call about the incident, they rushed responders to the scene. Emergency officials discovered that the motorcyclist was critically injured during the crash and immediately began life-saving efforts. However, the motorcyclist was tragically unable to recover and passed away on-site.
Investigation
As OPD continues attempting to find out what caused the accident, no likely factors have been reported. Police did state that driver intoxication is not a suspected factor. Additionally, police have asked that anyone who witnessed or has relevant information about the crash contact OPD Officer Khan by calling (530) 538-2448. OPD indicated that any help with the investigation would be greatly appreciated.
With single-vehicle motorcycle accidents, many common factors aren’t things that drivers can control, such as malfunctioning bike parts or issues with the road. However, investigating officers may not uncover these factors because they are unable to interview the involved driver. Often, this means that families cannot seek compensation from negligent parties.
To make sure that your family can hold responsible parties liable, it’s critical to work with an Oroville wrongful death lawyer who can use their experience and resources to launch a private accident investigation.
Wrongful Death Damages
A fatal crash is a tragedy, and families typically experience intense grief after learning about the sudden death of their loved one. During this time, it’s common for people to feel overwhelmed and maybe even unable to deal with their normal responsibilities. It’s important to make sure that you take care of yourself and your loved ones while processing grief. However, many people aren’t able to focus on healing because they are faced with major financial problems. Fatal accidents can leave families without a source of income that they relied on to pay bills. In many cases, families also lose access to vital services that are expensive to replace, like cleaning, childcare, or home maintenance. Furthermore, it’s common for families to be left with medical bills related to the fatal accident.
Fortunately, all of these losses can be recovered as part of a wrongful death claim, giving families the financial confidence they deserve while they are grieving. To learn more, the best thing you can do is talk with a trusted attorney about your case.
