Brentwood Crash Details
Shortly after 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, the CHP and the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District (ECCFPD) were dispatched to a car crash in Brentwood. Eyewitnesses allegedly stated that one driver ran against a red light at the intersection of Vasco and Marsh Creek Road in unincorporated Brentwood, according to CHP Officer Donnie Thomas.
The driver inside of an Infiniti G35 sedan was going south on Vasco Road before making a left turn onto Marsh Creek Road, said Officer Thomas. A silver Honda Pilot SUV traveling northbound on Vasco entered the Marsh Creek intersection against the traffic light, therefore colliding with the silver Infiniti turning left.
The Infiniti driver was reported to have lost consciousness initially, however the driver was responsive by the time firefighters had arrived to the scene. A Contra Costa County Fire Protection District helicopter was sent to the site of the crash and made its landing at the campus of Los Medanos College, said ECCFPD Battalion, Chief Craig Auzenne. The injured male was then airlifted to the John Muir Center in Walnut Creek. The Honda driver reportedly refused treatment and was released on-site. Both cars sustained major damage, and intersection traffic was disrupted during the active operations following the crash.
Investigating an Intersection Accident
Our law firm is quick to send our team of expert investigators to the scene of an intersection accident to generate an understanding of what really happened. After arriving, they will look for any indicators as to why the accident occurred and then establish liability. Some of the techniques used include the following:
- Applying accident reconstruction methods, which can give a lead to how the accident truly happened. This can be done by mapping the path a car had driven or analyzing the before-and-after placement of a car, etc.
- Personal interviews with eyewitnesses that could’ve seen the crash from a different perspective.
- Closely examining the intersection itself for any maladaptive design or maintenance that could point to external factors that contributed to the crash.
- Obtain and review police reports to check for any inconsistencies.
- Checking traffic surveillance cameras as well as any other recorded video from nearby stores or small businesses.
After our team has gathered a comprehensive pile of evidence using the resources mentioned above (and more), they will turn it back over to our legal team to construct a strong case for our clients.
