Humboldt Auto Accident Severely Injures One
One person suffered serious injuries during a Humboldt auto accident on Monday, February 10, 2020. Reports issued by California Highway Patrol (CHP) regarding the accident stated that the crash only involved a single vehicle and happened in the early evening. The injured individual has been hospitalized, and updates on their condition have not been reported by medical officials.
Crash Details
According to CHP, the crash happened at around 5:05 p.m. on State Route 36 just east of the small community of Bridgeville. Details about the events leading up to the collision are currently unavailable. However, officers indicated that the vehicle, a Dodge pickup truck, veered off the highway and traveled down an embankment.
Emergency response staff arriving at the accident site discovered that the driver had been seriously hurt during the incident. Responders called for a helicopter ambulance to transport the injured driver to a local hospital. No other individuals were reported to have been involved in the collision.
Investigation
CHP says that they have officers investigating possible causes of this collision. However, a report on suspected factors has not been released. Single-vehicle collisions like this happen frequently and, in many cases, involve causes that aren’t under the control of the driver. For instance, a defect in the roadway, such as a large pothole or missing signage, may put the driver in a dangerous situation that they are unable to avoid. In other cases, a vehicle part doesn’t work the way it should, leaving the driver out of control of their vehicle.
Recovering After a Car Crash
Car accidents involve a lot of force and are liable to leave people with injuries that seriously affect their lives. In many cases, crash survivors are left with injuries that take a long time to completely heal. With more serious injuries, survivors can be left with problems that affect them for the rest of their lives, such as chronic pain or issues with cognition and/or mobility.
Recovery can be both stressful and painful, and adjusting to life after being seriously injured is a difficult challenge that many people face. Furthermore, injuries can come with a host of expenses that often leave people concerned about their finances. Paying for surgeries, medicines, physical therapy, and other medical costs can be difficult, especially if your injury has left you unable to do your job. Often, people who’ve suffered injuries in a crash are unsure of how they will be able to afford to keep living their lives.
Getting Help
Fortunately, crash survivors can reach out for help. By working with a Eureka personal injury lawyer and seeking compensation from insurers and at-fault parties, accident survivors are frequently able to recover compensation for the full amount of damages that they suffered during the accident. However, each claim is different, and the types of payments available vary widely. For this reason, it’s best to speak personally to a professional before taking any kind of legal action.
