One Seriously Hurt During Redding Motorcycle Accident

On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, one person was left with serious injuries following a Redding motorcycle accident. According to the Redding Police Department (RPD), the crash happened in the morning on the east side of the city and involved a single motorcycle as well as a pickup truck. The injured individual has since been identified as a 25-year-old man from Redding and was in hospital custody as of the latest reports. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Crash Details

The motorcycle crash happened at around 10:30 a.m. on East Cypress Avenue near Churn Creek Road outside of the Safeway parking lot. The motorcyclist was driving westbound on Cypress and was reportedly accelerating. At the same time, a 77-year-old Whitmore resident driving a pickup truck attempted to perform a left turn onto Cypress, entering from the parking lot. While the truck was performing the turn, the motorcycle collided with its rear-end.

Response

Response officials were dispatched to the site directly after CHP received a call regarding the incident. At the scene, responders determined that the motorcyclist was seriously hurt and had him rushed to a nearby hospital via ambulance. The pickup truck driver reportedly did not suffer any trauma as a result of the accident.

Investigation of Redding Motorcycle Accident

As officers continue to investigate the accident, no likely crash factors have been reported. However, police have said that driving under the influence is not suspected to be a factor. Additionally, police have asked that any collision witnesses or individuals with relevant information about the incident contact RPD at (530) 225-4200. Callers should ask to speak to officer Mack.

Calling an Attorney

The effects of a motorcycle accident can be devastating, and injured individuals may face a difficult path to recovery. Not only is the recovery process often stressful and physically painful, but the necessary medical care can be highly expensive. In many cases, injured motorcyclists worry that they won’t be able to afford proper medical treatment, especially if their injuries have had an effect on their ability to work.

For these reasons, it is very important to reach out to an attorney for help. By filing an injury claim, motorcyclists can frequently obtain the compensation they need to cover the above-mentioned damages.

Another Recent Redding Motorcycle Crash

This collision occurred around half an hour after another serious motorcycle crash less than half a mile away. The second accident happened on Hartnell Avenue near Shotwick Trail. According to RPD, the motorcyclist was navigating a turn when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle and slid out, ultimately crashing into a nearby business.

The motorcyclist, identified as a 53-year-old Redding man, was found with a serious leg injury and was hospitalized following the incident. Additionally, police have indicated that the motorcyclist was charged with DUI following the accident.
