Orangevale motorcycle crash

Orangevale Motorcycle Crash. On Monday, September 3, an Orangevale motorcycle crash occurred at Hazel Avenue when a motorcyclist crashed into a minivan. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the rider was injured in the motorcycle crash, and paramedics and firefighters responded to offer assistance. Although it was determined that the rider suffered injuries described as minor, the motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

Orangevale Motorcycle Crash Details

According to authorities, the Orangevale motorcycle collision occurred in the evening at about 8:22 p.m. at the Hazel Avenue and Elm Avenue intersection. The crash is under investigation by the CHP as to cause and to place fault. The rider’s name and condition have not been released as of the time of this report.

How an Orangevale Motorcycle Crash Can Happen

Many motorcycle accidents are caused by negligent drivers of motor vehicles. However, not all of them are, and there are ways a rider can improve their odds of riding safely and reduce motorcycle accidents. Consider the following:

  • Don’t drink and ride: Because drugs and alcohol affect your ability to ride safely and are involved in a major number of crashes, an Orangevale motorcycle crash may be avoided by averting these risks.
  • Act responsibly: Obey traffic laws, keep a safe space between your bike and other vehicles and ride your motorcycle defensively. Using the high beams on your bike at all times helps make a rider more visible as well as wearing brightly colored clothing or using reflective strips.
  • Wear protective gear: Leathers, heavy boots and government approved helmets are available for a reason. Added protection can include clothing with built-in air bags.
  • Take a safety course: Learning evasive techniques to avoid an Orangevale motorcycle crash is a good idea. This way, if an accident is looming, you will know what to do and avoid traumatic injuries.
  • Get a license: A high number of motorcycle accidents involve riders who are unlicensed. Licensing is for a reason and ensures that the rider knows what he or she is doing and has knowledge of the laws governing bikes.
  • Ride the right motorcycle: Most riders know that certain types of bikes are safer than others. Make sure the bike isn’t more than you can handle.
  • Use caution when lane splitting. California is the only state that allows this practice, and it can be done safely when using caution. Never go more than 10 mph faster than traffic, and do not attempt lane splitting if the other vehicles are moving faster than 30 mph. However, remember that if you are involved in a Orangevale motorcycle crash, motorcyclist rights are the same as others on the roadway.
  • Don’t speed: This causes accidents in motor vehicles as well as motorcycles. Staying at or below the speed limit means that a rider has more time to react in a dangerous situation.

Proving Liability in an Orangevale Motorcycle Crash

When a motorcycle rider suffers serious injuries in an accident caused by a driver of a motor vehicle or government entity, they are entitled to fair compensation under the law. Although they still have the pain of medical treatment and recovery, it does help cover the financial end. In this way, they can concentrate on getting better, knowing their lives will not be ruined by outstanding medical bills. An experienced motorcycle accident lawyer can help by examining all the evidence and preparing a case for compensation that will reimburse all those costs.
