Overturned Vehicle Collision in Sacramento

A Sacramento overturned vehicle collision occurred recently at the intersection of Cottage Way and Howe Avenue near the Howe Community Park. Although few details were provided by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a major injury was reported in the accident, and it is known that one of the vehicles was a pickup truck. The parties inside the overturned vehicle were apparently unable to get out of the car, and assistance was needed to extricate them. At this time, the identity of the injured person is unknown, and there has been no word on the nature of the injuries. The CHP has not said whether drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Intersection Accident Injuries

About half of all accidents occur at intersections and may happen in numerous ways. Rear end collisions are the most common. However, front-end accidents often occur when one driver begins a turn when other traffic is headed straight through the intersection. A broadside or T-bone accident is the most dangerous because the sides of a vehicle often offer less protection to those inside a car and are caused frequently by a driver who runs a red light or a stop sign. When someone is injured in an intersection accident, it is important to have an experienced personal injury lawyer by your side to defend your rights and help you obtain the compensation you require and deserve.

Some Vehicles Are More at Risk for an Overturned Vehicle Collision

Rollovers are frequent in broadside collisions because the vehicle becomes unbalanced upon impact. Certain vehicles are more prone to rollover than others such as SUVs and smaller trucks and vans because they are taller, which elevates their center of gravity. These types of vehicles also tend to have a higher ground clearance that can make them unstable in a T-bone accident. If the lack of roof strength contributed to the accident injuries, an attorney can investigate to see if the manufacturer is liable for damages.

Injuries in an Overturned Vehicle Collision

A Sacramento overturned vehicle collision at an intersection often causes serious injuries and fatalities. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more than 10,000 people die each year from the 280,000 reported rollovers, along with countless injuries. This is because those inside a vehicle can strike against the interior numerous times as it overturns or be ejected. Some of the injuries that can be experienced in an overturned vehicle collision include:

An experienced car accident lawyer understands and sympathizes with the trauma and pain that go along with an accident injury caused by another’s negligent actions. He or she also understands the financial drain an injury can have on the family finances. This is why it is important to choose an injury lawyer who will fight for your right to fair compensation.
