Paradise Motorcycle Crash Causes Life-Threatening Injuries – Officers of the Paradise Police Department (PPD) reported that a serious auto accident occurred near Paradise during the afternoon of Wednesday, September 19, 2018. PPD stated that the crash involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. The accident left the motorcyclist with injuries that medical officials called “life-threatening.” The severely injured motorcyclist was identified by officials as Erik Lambert, a resident of the community of Paradise. Investigators say they are working to understand the causal factors involved in this crash. My thoughts and sympathy are with Mr. Lambert and his family during this difficult time.

Crash Information

PPD reported that the collision took place at about 3:30 p.m. Lambert had been riding his motorcycle on Skyway when he was struck by a vehicle along the 6900 block. Details about how the two vehicles crashed into each other have not yet been provided by authorities.

Personnel from the Butte County Fire Department, Butte EMS, and PPD all assisted with emergency accident response. Responders reported that Lambert was found unconscious and unresponsive at the crash scene. The man was placed on an ambulance and immediately rushed to an intensive care unit at Enloe Medical Center. The latest reports available indicated that Lambert remained in hospital care. Updates on his condition had not been released as of Friday, September 21, 2018.

Investigation

PPD authorities have stated that, while they are continuing a accident investigation, they do not believe driving under the influence or speeding to have played a role in causing the crash.
