Pedestrian Accident Fatally Injures Girl Near Stockton
A young girl was walking with a family member in Stockton on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Tragically, an oncoming vehicle collided with the girl, causing her to suffer serious injuries. Unfortunately, the girl later succumbed to her injuries during hospitalization.

Details of Pedestrian Accident
A 9-year-old girl was walking with a family member along Carolyn Weston Boulevard near Ishi Goto Street at approximately 3:40 pm. The two relatives attempted to cross the street when the girl was struck by an oncoming vehicle. A good Samaritan performed life-saving measures until the arrival of medical personnel.
Nature of Injuries
The girl was transported via air ambulance to the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, where she was listed in critical condition. Sadly, the girl passed away during hospitalization due to the severity of her sustained injuries.

The following video demonstrates the scene of the pedestrian accident. As you may see in the video, neighbors in the area believe speed bumps and flashing pedestrian crossing signs are necessary to prevent future accidents from occurring.
What Caused the Accident?
An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing by the Stockton Police Department. Authorities are searching for the drivers of a silver Mercedes-Benz and an early Honda Passport or Isuzu Rodeo. The motorists of these vehicles departed from the scene following law enforcement’s arrival and are believed to have been immediate eyewitnesses of the incident.
