Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident Near Tracy
A man was taking a morning walk in Tracy during the early hours of Friday, February 2, 2018. Unfortunately, this would be the last walk this man would take due to an unforeseen pedestrian accident.

What Happened?
Officers from the Tracy Police Department were called to the scene of a pedestrian accident along Grant Line Road in the vicinity of Joe Pombo Parkway at approximately 6:00 am. Upon arrival, officials discovered a Chevrolet HHR with front-end damage and an injured pedestrian lying in the left lane of the roadway near the median.
Nature of Injuries
Emergency crews were requested at the scene for immediate medical attention. Medical personnel from the American Medical Response performed life-saving measures on the pedestrian for about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Identity of Victim
The identity of the victim is not yet known due to pending notification of his next-of-kin.
What Caused the Accident?
The area was shut down for three hours while officers investigated the scene of the pedestrian accident. The cause of the accident has not yet been released due to an ongoing investigation. A Traffic Collision Report is generally processed in seven to ten calendar days from the date of an accident.
