State Route 28 Intersection Scene of Pedestrian Accident With Injuries
On February 10, a pedestrian accident resulted in injuries southeast of Truckee. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) disclosed that the incident occurred at the intersection of State Route 28 and Secline Street around 6:37 p.m. Officers discovered the pedestrian in the roadway and possessed a description of the vehicle involved in the collision.
Authorities Seek Vehicle Involved in Pedestrian Accident With Injuries
Fire department first responders arrived to assess the pedestrian’s injuries, but it is not known whether the victim was transported to a hospital or received treatment at the scene. The suspect vehicle is described as a red sedan with possible front-end damage. A portion of the vehicle was left at the scene, which authorities can use to determine the make and model. The investigation by the CHP traffic accident detectives will determine the cause.
How Sacramento Injury Lawyers Find Fleeing Drivers
In cases of hit-and-run accidents involving pedestrians and resulting in injuries, drivers often flee the scene without stopping or exchanging information. Our law firm has successfully located several of these hit-and-run motorists. It’s crucial that drivers are held accountable for their actions to ensure our clients receive compensation and the negligent parties are held responsible.
Investigations into such accidents involve:
- Examining evidence like metal, plastic, and paint found at the scene to determine the make and model of the vehicle involved.
- Seeking witnesses who may have observed the accident and can potentially identify the vehicle and the driver, especially if the incident occurred near the driver’s residence.
- Ensuring the accuracy of police reports, as any errors could hinder the client’s ability to file a claim.
- Utilizing surveillance footage and accident reconstruction techniques to comprehensively understand the fleeing vehicle’s movements in Sacramento.
Our team of injury lawyers is adept at constructing and presenting compelling cases, leveraging the gathered evidence in negotiations with the at-fault party’s insurance company or civil court litigation.
Filing a Claim for Compensation
In Sacramento, financial losses are a driver’s duty if they were negligent and caused a pedestrian accident with injuries. If the driver isn’t located, we help our clients use their uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage.
Insurance Coverage for Uninsured and Underinsured Motorists
An add-on policy for uninsured/underinsured driver coverage is available in California. Due to the large number of drivers in the state who have little or no coverage, this offer is popular among many drivers. These add-on policies protect people injured while walking, riding bikes, or driving. If another family member has insurance but the injured person does not, their policy can be used. The policy rates remain unchanged.
