Injured Pedestrian Hospitalized Following Hit-and-Run

Finding the Driver Who Fled the Scene
An attorney may be able find the motorist who hit you and hold them accountable if you have been injured by a fleeing driver. The pain and suffering of being injured, facing high medical bills and being unable to work is difficult enough. The cost of your injuries should be the responsibility of the driver who caused your trauma. It is our law firm’s mission to find hit-and-run drivers, and we have been successful in doing this over the years.
- To collect evidence before it is covered over or removed, our investigators rush to the scene of the fleeing driver as quickly as possible.
- An inspection is conducted at the accident site to determine if there are any paint marks or metal fragments left by the other vehicle. In this way, the make and model of the vehicle can be identified.
- An accident may have been filmed by one of the traffic surveillance cameras. A subpoena can be issued to obtain the film in order to identify the driver who fled the scene.
- Information can also be obtained from witnesses. The license plate number may have been remembered by a witness who saw the accident as it happened.
- An accident reconstruction shows how the hit-and-run occurred. Insurers and courts accept this type of evidence.
Using these pieces of evidence, our accident attorneys can build an effective compensation claim for our clients based on this compiled information.
Compensation Can Be Recovered Through Insurance Coverage
Medical expenses caused by an auto accident can be covered by the injured person’s uninsured/underinsured policy if the other party is unable to pay your damages. If you drive a vehicle, are a passenger, ride a bicycle or walk, this add-on insurance will protect you. A member of your immediate family can use their insurance if you did not choose to take this coverage. No change is made to the policy rates.
Settlement of an Insurance Claim by Arbitration
A personal injury lawyer can represent you in arbitration if you and the insurance company cannot agree on the amount. You are more likely to receive a fair settlement if you hire an injury lawyer who commonly works with insurance companies.
