Pedestrian Injured in Crash at Suisun Train Station
On Saturday, August 1, 2020, a pedestrian suffered injuries during a car accident at a Suisun train station. According to local officials, the accident involved one vehicle and a pedestrian and happened in the morning. The injured pedestrian was reportedly driven to a local trauma center following the incident and was the only person injured during the crash. The Suisun City Police Department (SCPD) is currently investigating the cause of this accident.
Crash Details
The accident occurred at about 7:45 a.m. SCPD indicated that the driver of a vehicle struck a pedestrian on the train station’s platform before it came to a complete stop on top of the tracks. The pedestrian, later identified as a male, was thrown onto the middle platform of the station. Further details about the circumstances of the accident were not immediately available.
Dispatchers reportedly sent responders out to the train station directly after receiving a report about the incident. Crews from both SCPD, Medic Ambulance, and the Fairfield Fire Department assisted with accident response. Reportedly, a paramedic from the Fire Department gave the pedestrian medical care while the rest of the responders secured the involved vehicle. Shortly after, the paramedic rode along with the patient to a local hospital. The extent of the man’s injuries was unreported.
Investigation
While SCPD continues to look into what factors could have been involved in this accident, investigators haven’t reported anything about likely causes. Collisions like this one can be complicated and often involve more than one cause. Furthermore, these causes often include non-pedestrian, non-driver factors like defective car parts or issues with the road.
Pedestrian Injuries
Pedestrians injured in car accidents have a high likelihood of suffering a major injury. Because pedestrians are unprotected by vehicle safety features, they often sustain severe trauma even in low-speed collisions. Common pedestrian injuries include:
- Bone fractures
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Internal bleeding
- Spinal cord injuries
- Amputation injuries
- Leg lacerations
All of these types of trauma can have a huge impact on your life and may require extensive medical care. Additionally, things like spinal cord trauma or traumatic brain injuries can worsen over time and cause secondary injuries or complications.
Calling a Lawyer
One of the most important things you can do to make sure you are able to recover from your injuries after a serious accident is to call a Suisun City personal injury lawyer. An experienced attorney can begin working on your case right away, and the sooner they can get started, the more effective they can be while advocating for your right to compensation.
One of the main reasons that crash survivors delay calling an attorney is that they don’t know how to get in touch with a lawyer that they know they can trust. However, finding a great lawyer in your area doesn’t need to be difficult. To learn more, watch this helpful YouTube video from my firm:
