The holiday season is among us, and the streets of Pittsburg are filled with things to see and places to be. Here are just a handful of exciting events on Pittsburg’s calendar.
Parade & Peppermint Playland
- Date: Saturday, December 9th, 2017
- Location: John Buckley Square, Railroad Avenue, Pittsburg, CA 94565
- Time: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Admission: Free
There will be a holiday parade that begins at 11:00 a.m., which is open to all Pittsburg residents and non-residents alike. Then, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., John Buckley Square will be transformed into a Peppermint Playland! Come join us and bring your family and friends for arts and crafts, bounce houses, a live magic show, and a visit from Santa Claus himself!

The C.Lee Brand 2nd Annual Charity Winterball
- Date: Saturday, December 9th, 2017
- Time: 9:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.
- Location: 460 East 10th Street, Pittsburg, CA 94565
- Admission: $22 tickets
Like last year, we intend to have an excellent time for a great cause. This year, we are happy to sponsor people battling Lupus by coming together for this black-tie event. Dress to impress, as there will be a best-dressed trophy, a live DJ, and many more surprises.
Nutcracker
- Date: Saturday, December 9th, 2017 and Sunday, December 10th, 2017
- Location: Creative Arts Building- Pittsburg High School (Big Theater) 250 School Street, Pittsburg, CA 94565
- Time: Saturday viewing – 7:00 p.m. Sunday viewing – 2:00 p.m.
- Admission: Tickets $10-$20
The Black Diamond Ballet Theatre will be presenting a live performance of everyone’s favorite ballet: The Nutcracker. This non-profit ballet company is home to East Contra Costa County, and this year marks its sixth year performing a full-length feature of the Nutcracker. The 2017 production includes many new and delightful changes to costumes, choreography, and storylines. Their holiday-inspired performance is not to be missed, so bring a friend and watch the night transform into a magical Christmas story.
Christmas Time is Here!
- Date: Sunday, December 17th, 2017
- Time: 2:00 p.m.
- Location: 351 Railroad Avenue, Pittsburg, CA, 94565
- Admission: $20 – $25
Christmas time has arrived at the Pittsburg California Theatre. The holiday season is celebrated worldwide in many different cultures, and this night will include a diverse performance of many familiar and non-familiar holiday songs that will be performed in their native languages. Take a trip around the world with your significant other, friends, or family, and maybe you’ll learn some new local customs of foreign places!
