Electrical Malfunction Caused Garage Fire
Around the late evening of Sunday, October 15th, 2017, a garage fire sent one couple fleeing away from their home located in Pittsburg, California. A more in-depth report of the story can be read below.
What Happened?
A one-alarm fire resulted in moderate damage to the garage in the home where it began. The home is located along the 3700 block of Greenbriar Drive. Crews from the Contra Costa Fire Protection District (CCCFPD) were dispatched to the scene and arrived at approximately 10:15 pm. According to Robert Marshall, a CCCFPD fire marshal and spokesman, the home was not demolished and is capable of being salvaged. Robert Marshall also indicated in a statement that the flames appeared to have been caused by an electrical issue in the garage.
Thankfully, both residents managed to escape without any harm. The couple who occupied the house has been temporarily displaced as a result of the fire. They were reportedly able to find housing without receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
