Four people in the other vehicle involved in the crash, a Ford F-150 pickup, managed to exit their vehicle and tried to douse the flames with a fire extinguisher, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Traffic in the area was backed up to Sankey Road.

Recovering Compensation Following a Two-Vehicle Crash
Being involved in a traffic accident is bad enough, but when injuries are involved, it can mean mounting medical bills, time lost from work and the pain and suffering that goes along with it. Personal injury lawyers can be of assistance in this situation. In addition, another driver may not be the only one who is negligent in some cases.
Whether the fault lies with another driver/drivers, poor road maintenance, a defective auto part or anything else, the lawyer can investigate the accident. This allows all parties responsible to be held accountable. Their job is to obtain enough compensation to help the injured party pay their bills and be compensated for their physical and emotional trauma, so they can concentrate on getting better without financial concerns.
Conducting an Injury Accident Investigation
Accident attorneys conduct an investigation into the cause of a two-vehicle crash. This is how they gather the evidence to support a client’s claim. Otherwise, no claim could be filed to recover damages. It is common for investigations to include the following:
- Obtaining the police report and reviewing any citations for intoxication, distracted driving, speeding or other violations by the at-fault party
- Searching for surveillance cameras nearby that may have captured the incident on tape, which provides compelling evidence
- Reconstructing the accident so that the positions of the vehicles are known before, during and after the accident with multiple vehicles
- Identifying whether the collision was caused by a defective auto part by examining the vehicle itself
- Finding evidence of roadway damage, such as skid marks that indicate if the other vehicle tried to stop or was speeding, near the two-vehicle crash site
